I just wanted say I've started a very unusual gaming site. I call it "The Obsidian Gate". Files, a chat room, message boards ect. I wanted to create a site around gamers that was a little different that what was out there. Check it out (signing up is required but it takes a whole two seconds and its free).

Well, I got the case from Aubrey last weekend. Today, I stripped it, and I fixed the power button so it will work ATX style. I also used some rubbing alcohol on the buttons and other parts to get them good and clean. This weekend, I will be attempting to but the parts in, setting my layout, and planning my dremel work.

As far as controlling the Ultra NES, I highly suggest a remote trackball. That way we can sit back on the couch/sofa and enjoy the NES with a remote. It IS a comp, so a mouse of some sort will be necessary..

PSU [Feb. 24th, 2003|02:16 pm]

Well, I have narrowed my choices down for the power supply.

FlexATX 120w PSU, cooled by 60mm Fan
Dimensions 190mm x 42mm x 90mm. The fan on the side protrudes 7mm.

External 230v to 12v transformer. 55w PSU
Uses no fans, so noise is not an issue! No added heat.
Board size is 160 x 45mm .

Ok, price isn't an issue, both cost about the same. Watt amount really doesn't matter. 55 would be enough, but ti would close. I am figuring by the time I am done, I will be eating about 40w-45w

The internal is a true PSU, I would trust it more. But then again, laptops use externals like the one I am looking at. Both have pros and cons.

Internal - Pros: Reliable, more power, trusted.
- Cons: Slightly bigger, added heat, I lose the look of an adapter plugging into the back of the system versus a computer power plug.

External - Pros: Small, no heat, no fan, authentic look.
- Cons: Risky, low power rating, unrated.

Poll #105667 Ultra NES - PSU

Which PSU do you recommend?

120w Internal
5(50.0%)
55w External
5(50.0%)

Hi Chris. =)

I left work and checked Hiawatha Video. They had -one- NES in stock for 79.99. As you know, I called you on my cell afterwards to inform you.

I went home and picked up Sam, as she was to accompany me to Big Mike's Swap Shop and Comix Zone to check for Samus Bobbleheads/figures and NESes.

We hit Big Mike's first. Asked about their systems. The guy said he didn't have any NESs. Shoot.

"Ahh well.. Thanks anyhow.." I say as me and Sam turn to leave.
"Well, we have -one-, but it doesn't work."
"...Can I see it?! It doesn't matter if it doesn't work! o.o!"
"..Well, sure.. What're you gonna use it for?"
"My boyfriend's gonna gut it and turn it into a Computer."
"..Well, here you go. Consider it a gift. ..I sure wanna see this when it's done..."
"EEEE! THANK YOU! XD"
"No problem, see ya!"

Later Sam was saying "I don't believe it! You always tell me stories of how you manage to get free shit, and now I've seen it right infront of me! Why can't people give ME their old used shit?!"

Hehehehe.

Anyhow, I've cleaned the thing off. It has a few scuffs and scrapes, but otherwise it's in near mint condition.. =) Now all you need to do is visit, and you can take it back with you then. =) Ok, that's the end of this post. Bye!
